Welcome to our Institute

The Universal Institute was established by the Cherukunnu Educational & Cultural Society during 1998 in a rented building near Payyanur town with few technical courses.

As the result of our team work and devotion , we have constructed own buildings at an institutional area near Payyanur College, Edat, about 3 kilometers away from Payyanur Town and shifted to the new location in 2003. After the shifting of Institution to Edat, Near Payyanur College, we have further developed the Infrastructure facilities. Special attention have been given to arrange the practical labs /workshops in an exemplary manner. Practical Labs are equipped with full scale training aids, equipment& tools as specified in the standard norms of the controlling authorities. Now we can proudly announce that, a small institute started in 1998 is now developed as UNIVERSAL GROUP OF INSTITUTIONS(an ISO 9001 2015 Certified Institution) which is the largest technical training centre in North Malabar region with several Government recognized courses.

An active placement cell working under the Administrator ensuring job for every students, through campus interviews and job fairs, immediately after completion of their course.

We are also giving special emphasis to improve the personality development and communication skill of our students. As a part of it, an Institutional Chapter of the Junior Chamber International (JCI) formed up during the previous year which was inaugurated by JC.SEN Adv. A.V.Vamanakumar (Past National President of JCI(India). The junior wing of Rotary Club (Rotoract) was also formed up in the institution. Several seminars and training classes are also being conducted by the eminent personalities and international trainers of JCI(India), Rotary Club and Lion’s Club.

The departments are atheistically designed to ensure high degree of efficiency in teaching / learning process. Environment is ideally suited for academic work and all the departments are headed by outstanding academicians. Technical labs and Practical Workshops are well equipped and continuously updated to meet the changing requirement as per syllabus. The College also encourages well- rounded personality growth and service to society. Students are encouraged to participate in personal-development and leadership opportunities. The Institution also supports students to enhance their knowledge and improve skills by technical training, placement training, organized by all the departments inviting the experts from the industries. A placement cell working under the Office Manager ensuring job opportunities to all of our students immediately after completion of their training.
